A chilly Roman ride!

Here are some photos from a cold and wintery Hadrian's Wall trip we did recently. It is such an evocative place and easy to imagine the Roman soldiers on one side of the wall and the Scots on the other where they must have really felt the cold in the winter - we were wrapped up in Gore-Tex and thermal layers and still felt freezing! We did a great circuit with some fantastic views then clambered over the wall from the north to try and imagine how it felt to take a swipe at the Roman Empire!!
